Red & Blue Walkthrough

1. Pallet Town
This is where you start your game. Go downstairs to your mother she will tell you that Prof. Oak wants to see you. When your done searching around try leaving the town by the north exit. Prof. Oak will come and get you. He will lead you to his lab where you will be able to choose your first pokémon. There is Bulbasaur , Charmander or Squirtle. There is no right or wrong pokémon to choose. Now your rival will pick the pokémon the is strong against you now try to leave the lab and your rival will fight you. If you win your pokemon will go to level 6. Now leave and head north to viridian city.
2. Viridian City
When you arrive in viridian city goto the PokéMart. He will give you a parcel take this parcel back to Prof. Oak then he will give you and your rival a pokédex , this will record all the pokémon you have caught and seen also go to your rivals house to get a town map. The goal of the game is to catch all the pokémon and fill your pokédex. Now go back to viridian city and go out the north exit. Don't bother looking in the gym because it is locked. It will not unlock until you beat all the other gym leaders and have 7 badges.
3. Viridian Forest
On your way through viridian forest you should catch Pickchu , Caterpie and Weedle don't worry about Metapods and Kakunas they are attackless and Caterpie and Weedle will evolve into them. There are 2 easy trainers to fight which you should beat easily.
4. Pewter City
This is where you get your first badge from Brock. He has Geodude and Onix 2 rock type pokémon if you chose Squirtle you should have no problem with his water gun but anyone else will have a problem. When you have beaten Brock hed towards Mt. Moon.
5. Mt. Moon
Go through this cave and when you get to the end of the cave you have a choice with the Helix Fossil or the Dome Fossil. The Helix fossel will become Omanyte and the Dome Fossil will become Kabuto when you take them to the Pokemon Lab on Cinnabar Island.
6. Cerulean City
This is where you can get your second badge from Misty. She uses water pokémon so Bulbasaur or Pikachu will make the fight alot easier. Misty has Staryu and Starmie. When you beat Misty go north towards Bills House but be ready because your rival will fight you. Bill will give the SS Ticket. Now head south out of town on the way there is a house with the day care man in it he will look after 1 pokémon for you making its levels go up. At the end of the path there is a big building it is the gate to Saffron City at this point he will not let you through at this time. The smaller building is the underground tunnel to Vermilion City.
7. Vermilion City
Here you can get a coupon for a Bike from the pokémon fan club. Take this coupon back to Cerulean City and exchange it for a bike. When you get back go onto the SS Anne here you can battle lots of trainers and get items but the most important thing is HM01 which contains Cut teach this to a grass type pokémon. Now go to the gym that was blocked by a tree and use cut to cut it down. Enter the gym you will see that there are alot of rubbish bins these will unlock the door to LT Surge. Once you find the first lock the other one will beside it. LT Surge uses electric type pokemon if you chose Squirtle he will have problems against electric type pokémon. Now go east and enter the Digglett's Cave.
8. Diglett's Cave
It leads to a road near Pewter City be sure to pick up a Diglett on the way when you get out go down and there are 2 houses the second one Prof. Oaks aide is there and he will give you HM05 which conatins Flash if you have more then 10 pokémon now go back to Cerulean City.
9. Cerulean City
Go east towards the Rock Tunnel
10. Rock Tunnel
It is very dark so you need a pokémon with flash to get through. Pick up Onix and Machop on your way through. When you get out head south towards Lavender Town.
11. Lavender Town
You can't really do anything in this town until you get the Sliph Scope. Head west there will be a big and small building go into the small building it is an underground tunnel to Celedon City.
12. Celedon City
Celedon City is the biggest city in the game. You will need to come to this city many times. Enter the Game Freak building from the back and goto the top floor to get Eevee he can evolve into 3 diffrent pokemon using the Water Stone for Vaporeon Electric Stone for Jolteon or Fire Stone for Flareon. Now goto the gym with Erika she uses grass type pokémon Charmander will have no problem in this gym. Now goto the PokéMart and on the top floor buy 2 Fresh Water 1 Soda Pop and 1 Lemonade give one of each to the girl in the room she will give you TM's. Now goto the Game Corner.
13. Game Corner
Goto the top of the room there will be 2 posters 1 is guarded by a team rocket member talk to him and he will move then push the A button on the poster a secret staircase will open go into it it will take you to the basement of the Game Corner. Get to Giovanni at the top floor and beat him he will give you a Sliph Scope now go back to the Pokémon tower in Lavender town.
14. Pokemon Tower
Get to the top floor and save the old man he will give you a Poké Flute now go back to Celedon City and head west there will be a Snorlax in the way also there will be a cuttable tree with a house inside this house a girl will give you HM02 with fly inside it. Now go back to the Snorlax and use the Poké Flute to wake him up there are only 2 Snorlax in the game so try and catch him once your done go down the cycling road to Fushia City
15. Fushia City
Goto to the gym in this town and take some poisen heals with you. Beat this leader and head north to the Safari Zone.
16. Safari Zone
At the end of the Safari Zone there is a house with a man inside it who will give you HM03 which is surf also in the Safari Zone are the gold teeth which you take to the warden and get HM04 which is strength.
17 Lavender Town
Head west and go into the big building and give the man the freash water you bought earlier he will now let you into saffron city!
18. Saffron City
There are 2 gyms in this city one is the Fighting Dojo Gym where you get ether Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee the other is Sabrinas gym The Psychic trainer at first there is a team rocket member blocking the way so you need to go to the biggest building in the city called Sliph Co. Now you have to get to the top floor and beat giovanni again also get a Lapras. After defeating Giovanni talk to the man and he will give you a Master Ball only use it on one of the legendary birds. Now you can beat Sabrina
19 Pallet Town
Now go back to Pallet Town and surf south soon you will arrive at Cinnibar Island.
20. Cinnibar Island
When you get here go to the Pokemon Lab and trade in your fossels for some new pokémon depending on what fossels you have. Now you need the key for the gym go into the building above the Lab and in here will be the key to the gym. When you get into the gym you will notice that there are machines in every part push A on them an they give you a question if you get it right the door will open to the next part!! When you beat the gym leader fly back to Viridian City.
21. Viridian City
Now the gym will be unlockled so go get your 8th and last badge!! Now head west to To a big building where they check all your badges then let you into a cave called Victory Road. Go all the way through Victory Road until you come out in the Indigo Plateau.
22. Indigo Plateau
Here is a PokéMart and PokéCenter in one stock up on Max Revives and Hyper Pootions cause once your in the Elite Four there are no PokéCenter stops!. Now go and beat the Elite Four! Once you have beaten the Elite Four you will face your rival he is stronger and harder to beat then ever! If you lose you have to do the Elite Four all over again!. Beat him and you will be the best trainer in the world!
